a real NIGHTMARE

If you're thinking of going to Aqaba then the InterContinental AQABA Hotel should never be one of your options. I've been to many five stars hotels (both in Jordan and abroad), and i've also been to 4 stars hotels, but I was shocked to discover that one of the 'well known five stars' hotel has such a lousy service. I've had the worst experience there and I am extremely dissapointed.
The nightmare started with us getting there and finding out that even with a reservation being made a week earlier, the rooms were not ready and they could only provide late check-in (at 3 pm, although we were there at 11). We had to open our bags in the STORE ROOM in order to get our swim suits and the things we needed. The rooms were ready at 4 pm only!!

Cars were not allowed to go anywhere near the hotel, so you have to park it out in the crowded street and walk all the way inside in this burning weather.

The tanning beds were another nightmare. You can never find empty ones, if you happen to be extremely lucky then you'll get to find one but without a mattress.
The towels were another issue, if you ask for a towel at anytime(and keep in mind that this is a 5 stars hotel), then the only response you will get is that towels are not available (in laundry)!
When you finally see some people carrying towels, you get out of the pool and check with them and they'd say 'Oh, sorry they're all taken now'!
It would take you 2 to 3 attempts minimum of continuous nagging in order to get one. The service is horrible, it's worse than you can ever imagine.
This is all without mentioning how dirty everything seemed to be. Talking about the sunbeds and the towels (laundry towels). They were all covered with yuckie stains.

Another surprise that was waiting for us, is when we tried to do reservations for the rooms over phone we were informed that corporate prices do not apply over the weekend, only to discover later on that more than half of the rooms were booked on corporate rates. They lied and lied and lied. When they don't know what to say or how to explain all the mess that's going on they just lie about the whole issue.

And what made things worse is that after paying for a full normal rate, we were shocked to discover after having breakfast that breakfast is not included. (and we were not informed about it earlier)! A full rate room in a supposedly '5 stars hotel' should by default mean bed and breakfast, but for Intercon Aqaba everything has a different meaning, everything has a different definition, and it all depends on nothing but their random stupid judgements. And more lies were to follow of course concerning the bed and breakfast issue.

Checking out late was also a problem, although we checked in at 4 pm we were not allowed to ask for a late check out. I just get more and more frustrated whenever I remember this weekend 'vacation'.
Many thanks to Intercon Aqaba for ruining my 'once a year vacation'.

I must admit that the beach had soft sands and was clean of all the annoying big slippery rocks, but with all the guys swimming from Aqua Marina checking out girls, whistling, and giving everyone around disturbing nasty comments, the nice beach didn't really matter. If you're wondering what the security man was doing watching all of this nonsense? He was doing nothing.

I was expecting a relaxing sweet vacation, yet all I got was fighting and complaining about the bad service that destroyed any attempts of having a good time.

Now I will make sure there's no more Intercon for me. I've been to 4 stars hotels that were a thousand times better than this. And im sorry to say it doesn't really deserve to be part of this branding or to have this fake reputation. I will make sure that from now on non of our customers will get my Intercon recommendation.

qwaider...I wouldn't really say it was quite a good time for the reasons i mentioned plus it felt weird especially that i've been addicted to watching news in the past couple of weeks, it felt as if there's something missing.
And YES, there were lots of lebanese down there.

My dear Anonymous.. I don't need to mention how bad I feel about what's happening in Lebanon in every single post for you to know that I feel bad.
And I don't need to say that watching the news is all I do lately... I don't need to tell you how many times I cried when seeing the pictures of all those innocent children, the pictures of blood... and the nightmares I keep having, for you or for anyone else...
If you don't like what you read, then SIMPLY don't read it..!!! I can't believe how stupid some people can be!

salam... Thanks a lot!!!! Thank you!
Yes it was so crowded with Lebanese, and me talking about a different subject doesn't mean that Im forgetting our painful reality!
And again i don't need to talk about how i feel in every single post to show how frustrated, depressed and mad I am!

    So lets see...
I've been tok aqaba just over a week ago as well, but not at the intercont, actually i found it toooooooo expensive.

I have experienced the hotels beach after all, wasnt all that bad 4 me, maybe cause i didnt go on the weekend. the towels were available, clean and neat, the tanning beds as well.

Most of the 5 star hotels here in jordan have their checkin at 3 PM and checkout at 12 by the way.

No Parking lot or spaces are available, and not even a parking valet service! Terrible!

Aquamarina 1 is now an open swiming school, and a yakht port! it will went down just like the radisson to make space for the Saraya Project.

according to my personal experience, i found the guys at the movenpick (in any of their 4 branches) the most honest people accross jordan, and with the best ever service....

as for mr Anonymous, as salam said, lebanese in jordan are enjoying their times even more!
