suicidal

Is it the cockroaches' season or what?

Living in the third floor has an advantage because this should never be happening, really! Last week we had this flying cockroach coming through the open window.

And what a suicidal courageous one, it landed right on our wires' zone, and kept hiding there.. That was not funny at all!

I thought I don't like the routine, but I guess even those who believe that routine sucks hate it when they become used to a certain thing or way or lifestyle and then things just change.. so after getting used to this long summer holiday, university will start next monday! If you asked me how I feel about this a week ago I'd say very bad and depressed but now I am accepting it because I really want to finish the two coming semesters and concentrate on the practical real business world.

Last semester I remember one of the lecturers was saying if you want to get a distinction you need to study for each course at least 9 hours a week. So that would make 9*4= 36 hours of studying as a minimum for all the courses/ week. At that time I thought she must be kidding, and what a funny thing to say to scare the shit out of the first semester new students.. but I remember studying more than 36 hours/ week and that was not funny at all!!

It is stressful, depressing and very intensive. But Im planning to have an organized schedule, and to try my best to use my time wisely and manage the three.. studying, work and home. Plus of course seeing friends and outings. No more facebook twice a day, no more blogging every single day and no more msn. Those will be my major online changes I guess..

With all the huge changes, I still believe being busy is much better than having nothing to do. And I know for a fact, looking back at this time a year from now, it would just feel great. I don't have any expectations for this semester, but Im taking all the 4 business cores which might be hard.. it's all because I still didn't make up my mind about the Marketing/ HR dilemma, so this would probably give me more time to think... ummm or not to think at all and leave the decision for the last semester!!!

MUTE

It really drives me crazy when the TV volume goes up on ads!!! I really hate it.. it annoys me to the max especially when my hands are dirty or the remote control disappears for a reason or another. Marketing people, do you really think this is smart.. Im sure just like me, most of the people press the mute button with the first ad.. would you prefer to have your ads half heard because someone is busy doing other stuff in the next room or not heard at all!!!! THINK people.. THINK!

I don't get it.

I don't get it.. how come with all the applications and new updates and with everything the technology guys are coming up with or adding to the options we already have.. no one has ever thought about a simple thing that would make life much easier!!!

just like all the options we get to have when right clicking..

How come there is NO.. right click/ RESIZE image!

Seriously!!! Do I really have to import everything to iPhoto and then export it again with the new size!!!? What a waste of time, space, and everything... and what an ugly way of duplicating images!

Pre18

I was tagged by Rebellious Arab Girl. & ProudPali. I have to list 6 things a girl must learn to do and avoid before she turns 18.

1. Enjoy every minute you spend with your family. You would never know where you'd end up.. in what country, or how often you will be visiting. Being a teenager can be hard, there are times when you wouldn't want to listen to your mom's advices, or you'd simply feel like locking the door and staying in your room.. but you'd get to realize grown ups are wise, and that those advices are the ones which will get you far away from troubles.

My father in-law once said 'it needs kids years to get to what their parents have already forgotten'!!!

2. Learn that there is a right time for everything. Don't rush it, just live it day by day and enjoy..

Be wild, love life, travel as much as you can, be crazy as much as you want, change your look (hair & piercing), have a hobby (music, dancing, swimming, photography, arts and crafts, anything..) just keep yourself busy, try to let your energy out and make a use of it..

Build strong friendships cause old (school) friends are the ones that would stay there forever and forever..

3. Get the highest marks. Be on the top of the scale ALWAYS. Cause once you are there, you'll always want to stay there. And you would never settle for less..

4. Watch your weight. Even if this means to do it every month! Food is about getting what you NEED, nothing more.. nothing less. It is the time when you should eat healthy and when the body is responding perfectly. Make sure to get the right share of Fish, Meat, Chicken, MILK and EGGS. Try to avoid sweets and chocolates, once you get used to them you become addicted, and you'll end up getting pimples and it would be so hard when you want to get rid of all the fat later on.

5. Have as many crushes as you want, but don't get in anything serious. Don't fall in love. Cause there is no love at that immature age, you would think it's love, but later on you'd see how mistaken you were especially when you become more mature and your standards become higher.. your way of thinking would also change, what you would need and want in a partner would no longer be 'kids talk', it would be the real thing. Once your emotions are more stable and you know exactly where you are and what you want to be, then you are ready for love.

6. Dream BIG. It is where you want to be and how you see yourself in 10 or 20 years time what really matters. This way you won't settle for less than what you deserve, and you will always strive to be better, to do better and to excel.

I tag :

The Dead Sea in 'The Sydney Morning Herald'

It felt very refreshing to read the article that Ben Stubbs wrote about the dead sea and the great effect of its mud's minerals and salts on skin. And mentioning also Jordan's tourists religious attractions.

' I feel sufficiently pampered as I walk back up the banks with a souvenir of world-class mud plastered to the back of my board shorts for later.' [source]

I really hope there will be more writing about the Dead Sea and its wonders. It is one of the places I miss the most, and it is definitely worth the visit and the whole experience. I don't think it gets the proper promotion that it deserves! And it's extremely annoying knowing that very few people know where is the lowest point on earth!!

unexpected

I sent some photos to my sister, and her reply was very unexpected.

'I LOVE them, this is the first time I see you looking like this, living abroad really suits you!!!'

It sounds strange hearing those words from her and knowing how much she misses me...!

Muddled Thoughts

I often get confused when it comes to what people say and consider as a joke. Some of those jokes I find extremely unacceptable, especially when there's a hidden meaning behind them. I learned it the hard way, I will REFUSE and will never let anyone interfere with my personal life. I will never ever think that revealing what's personal help in solving problems, cause after marriage your personal life would happen to involve two.. and it's so unfair to consider it as yours only. I will not allow anyone to cross the lines, and I would fight anyone with ill intentions, causing troubles even without intending to.

It's just amazing all the levels of maturity that develop after marriage, and it's astonishing the strong feelings of protection that you get to hold for your little kingdom. There should always be this unbreakable fence around it, and if you let anyone in even if only once, others would also follow, and this will make things way out of control.. what started with a mistake will end up in a tragedy.

I learned that you can say things to the wrong people.. you can hear things that can affect you for quite a long time from the wrong people too.. and when it gets tough you'd find it hard to differentiate between a friend with a good intention but lacks the skill to express, hence gets misunderstood.. and a bad friend hidden carefully behind a colorful mask. You can do many things that might seem vague to others, and this all shouldn't really hold you back.. cause it would all happen for the one and only reason.. keeping the ship moving smoothly away from any destroying waves.

I learned that it's great to be sociable, but it's not too great to be too nice. That it is in your hands to make things work or walk out on them. That you need to open up and be honest with yourself before looking for answers from anywhere or anyone else.. and that patience, faith, and confidence can be the key to almost all closed doors and can get you out of everything including the unthinkable.

Sony Bravia

This is one of my favorite ads.. the music is awesome, and you would still hear it in your head even after the ad is over. I like the colors, and the idea of colorful rabbits jumping and running everywhere.. I just love it!!! So this is one of the ads that if they cut the best TV show to put it, I wouldn't really mind!

Little Losers!

Jay Jays - which is a fashion retailer had recently their new line of the 'Little Losers clothing'. The funny thing is those t-shirts are mainly worn by teenagers and they play on the Mr Men characters featuring slogans such as Miss Bitch, Mr Asshole, Mr Well Hung, Miss Floozy and Mr Drunk!!! And sold as cool and trendy reflecting the teenage rebellion.

Now I believe the outrage was a justified reaction caused by this line to parents who were calling to pull the 'lewd' t-shirts.

I think this is far away from being trendy! I mean how would someone walk in the streets wearing such a t-shirt feel proud, cool or good about it!! seriously!

Though I must admit that this would make a really nice gift if sent to certain people with attitude problems..!

it's not that bad!!

I keep reading the ' I hate Valentine's Day' posts, and I really don't think it's that bad! If you don't want to celebrate it then you don't have to.. just don't make a big fuss over it..

All the places were fully booked today.. restaurants, bars and coffee shops. It was nice walking in the streets and seeing the places packed..

some people have big plans and others don't.. some people consider it as a day to show love and others believe that love should be there every single day.. some people buy a gift a month earlier and others believe that a rose is a must.. at the end of the day it's your choice and your life! .. it's not that bad, when you think about all the people who use it as an occasion to make up, to get closer, to show their true feelings, or even to propose!

Spice it Up

Im not sure if this is the best advice or whether it will work for everyone, cause Im really new in this.. I started cooking recently, just a month ago.. and so far Im really enjoying it. Before we do our grocery shopping, I prepare this list of all the dishes I'll be cooking for the week, and then according to that we'll buy what we need.

But I believe that what really matters and give the delicious taste is not the way you cook.. it's not what vegetables you use, ingredients.. or how much you leave it on fire.. etc. It's what kind of spices you use. It's very important to use the right spices for the right dish and with the right quantity. So much spices can ruin the whole thing.. some spices can be so strong and make you lose the taste of everything else.

All the recipes I got from my mom and mother in law had the arabic spices in them. It is an essential part of the arabic cooking I guess. And since Im not the so 'meat/ chicken' person.. I had to buy all the different spices to mix with them.

My favorite ones are the lemon pepper, which is used with the chicken and I just love how magical this thing is. And the other one is the HOT Cajun Seasoning.. this is unbelievable! I use it with anything and everything.. I put it on the chicken, eggs, meat, rice with curry, Quesadillas, and even with normal sandwiches.

So if you want the delicious taste, just Spice it Up!

my two- MUST CHECK- for everyday

Every single day I have this routine that I can't seem to change or replace!

Ok, I must admit this is turning to a real obsession! I don't get to do any plans before I check this widget, and I have no idea why I believe whatever it says. Even our long term weekend plans would also be planned according to this. But the thing is that it doesn't show the disco lights that happens almost every night!!

This is the first thing I check when I open my eyes, and might be the last thing I check too before I go to sleep. There is only one or two blogs that I read which are not listed in Q Planet. But all the rest are there. I mean seriously, now it's also linked to my morning coffee..

NOW

Could it be possible to get all the good news all at once and in the same day!!!?

The sad thing though is there's no one to share with since it's 6 am back in Amman! I hate the time difference.. I really do! And now when I finally get to share it and wait till someone wakes up, it wouldn't feel the same.. at least not for me.. there won't be any jumping or screaming left!

I need to say it NOW!

Marketing and/or HR

Ever since I started my first semester and I was facing this real dilemma. Im still not sure about what should I go for! Im doing my Masters of Business but I haven't still made up my mind whether I should go for a single (Marketing or HR) major, or have a combination of both but ending up with no major.

I have taken a course in Marketing, and not only completed it with a distinction but I really enjoyed it too! The only thing that scares me with the single major kinda thing is that I don't want to be stuck and have to work in one field. I keep getting those 'what if' scenarios that drive me crazy and add to my confusion! What if i don't like working in Marketing.. or what if I find HR boring!!

so can anyone especially those who -WORK (and not study, cause there's a huge difference between the two) in Marketing or HR-, HELP, please!!

just like a year ago

* speakers on *
Just like a year ago..

Today is Special!
It is me & you.. Today is oursEvery step we make
And every moment we share
Make me give you that one look, which says it all..

It is being around you is what I love the most, no matter where you are or what you do
And it is ironic how even when we are together, I would still miss you!

We had our ups and downs, but every step down pushed us a thousand steps up
It is the way you always think about the future in terms of ‘me and you’.. I have never understood the word ‘us’ and what it really meant before I met you.
The way you always and no matter how down I feel, have faith in me.. and the way you bring out the best in me.

It is me enjoying your technology talks, checking the Dick Smith and Harvey Norman with you every time we’re in the mall, and loving every bit of it! It is me loving Apple, MAC, Ipods, biking, ping pong and whatever you enjoy and like.. It is you telling me to check up a new dress while we’re walking, or You planning all our beach outings, and no matter how bad the weather is just because you know I would enjoy it..

It is us becoming closer, together planning a future, sharing interests, and having two laptops while sharing one printer!

It is all the time, affection, emotions.. and making my life here far away from family and friends just like being home

The way you opened my eyes to new things, new ways to enjoy life.. and making me have faith in tomorrow as ‘tomorrow is a better day, because it only gets better’
All the joy you brought into my life
All the smiles and laughter
Make me now more certain
That I am blessed and lucky to have you!
It is you being who you are is what I love the most..
Happy ‘one year’ Anniversary

wrong combination

This is what happens when you have the wrong combination. PS3 and a beanie bag DO NOT work together. I repeat.. they DO NOT work together. We spent the night trying to clean up the mess, and those small white balls are just horrible. They stick everywhere and anywhere.. !!! You can't see them, and you can't get rid of them..

*sigh*

on relationships

This is the topic that everyone talked and wrote about at least once, if not more. It is an interesting topic, and I personally can't skip a post that touches any aspect of it.

But I sometimes wonder, how come we always try to analyze it.. in an attempt to come up with advices, solutions, or just write down our thoughts and share what we think we know .. talk out of experience or just for the sake of talking ..when deep inside we all believe it's a subject that doesn't really need so much thinking. Each and every relationship is different.. you just can't compare or give advices based on what you have been through.. simply because that was another thing.. each relationship has different circumstances, and conditions that are related and linked to that certain one in particular.

Some people say we have learned lessons from what we have been through, but I think this should not be the case.. it happens that what is deep inside lives with you.. grows with you.. and you can't be thinking of what you are currently living based on what you have learned. You don't need to do that.. things that happened were history, that was past and you can't drag it to the present! It's a buried chapter.. and most probably they won't happen again. You can't live every minute expecting the worst... and you can't let fears control you.

This is why I would always say that relationships are not a topic to analyze .. you can't feel confident enough or in the right position to give advices regarding what or how should relationships be. It is something that each and everyone should experience on his own.. live.. and keep everyone out of it! In most disagreements between couples, when people get involved it might get worse not better. Unfortunately, there are many people out there (they might even be relatives or close friends) who don't realize how sensitive things can get or be. A sentence or a simple word that is said without deep thinking might add fuel to the fire..

Relationships can be extremely complicated, this is why I learned that if there are problems between two partners.. and if i don't have anything positive to say then it's better not to say a thing. No one really knows what happens inside the house but the people who live in it.. so regardless of all that is said and shared, there will always be some issues that only the two really know.

It is a topic I personally enjoy.. It is more like a mystery.. no matter how far you think you reach or how wise you think you are, you'd be surprised to learn that there is still more to know and this is only the beginning..

Jibbitz

I must admit that I LOVE the Crocs Shoes on children. This should be just for under 5 . Why?!

Simply because the Jibbitz make all the difference.

They come in all the shapes children love. It is an idea that honestly makes me jealous. It is a very successful business because it has it all:

- They're sold at a relatively high price (per one), children would not get bored of them.. why would they when they come in different shapes and colors.

Each child would have AT LEAST two (one for each pair), and this is at least.. assuming that this is an easy going child who listens to the parents and is easy to satisfy!

- It's a full of surprises business. It doesn't stop here. And in order not to limit them for children, there are also - activities, horoscopes, awareness - for adults Jibbitz.

And new products are also released, so they won't only be linked to Crocs shoes! Now they also sell keychain jibbitz,

Crocs Shoe shape Mobile Holders, Small Bags, Straps and even Wristbands.

This is what I call 'smart business'!!

Desert Scarves

Had I known I'd find them everywhere and in all colors - but mostly black-, I would've brought one with me!

They are sold for a range of $15-$30 depending on the place that sells them. They are called 'the desert scarves' and are both winter and summer latest fashion!
