What surprises you most about humankind?

That they get bored with childhood,
they rush to grow up, and then
long to be children again.

That they lost their health to make money...
and then lose their money to restore their health.

That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future.

That they live as if they will never die,
and die as though they had never lived.

They should learn that they cannot make anyone love them.
All they can do is let themselves be loved.

They should learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others.

They should learn to forgive
by practicing forgiveness.

They should learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in those they love,
and it can take many years to heal them.

They should learn that a rich person
is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least.

They should learn that there are people
who love them deeply,
but simply have not yet learned
how to express or show their feelings.

They should learn that two people can
look at the same thing
and see it differently.

They should learn that it is not enough that they
forgive one another, but they must also forgive
themselves.

25th September 2006

To dad ,,, on your birthday

I thought one of the things growing up means is to be independent,,, to feel and be free... to own the world in your hand... to fly and catch the stars...
Growing up is taking your own decisions and being responsible of your actions, words and ways...

Growing up is to be mature and learn from your mistakes... but with whatever meaning you can think of or come up with,,, one thing i've come to realise and believe in, is that growning up never means to break the most precious bond in the world... your bond with parents. Growing up doesn't mean to need them less... !

No matter what paths life take you... no matter where you end up ,,, no matter what you will make of yourself and how far you can go... this bond always pulls you back!

Parents are the ones who love unconditionally... they are the ones who love you with no boundaries,,, the ones who keep forgiving... the most patient, caring and tender!

You're the one who is continuously encouraging me and teaching me how to be ambitious...

to work hard, to have a strong desire to be someone... not just anyone!

You're the one who were behind whatever achievements i have accomplished...

and will be behind whatever yet to be accomplished...

Who I am and what I am... I owe it to you!

Our disagreements don't make me love you less... and our misunderstandings don't mean a thing... it just make me closer!
I love you and I wish you a happy 61st birthday... I am blessed to have you as my dad.

Increasing Confidence 1- Philippa Davies

Confidence can be defined as having faith in your abilities, and the belief that you will be able to do what you want and to achieve what you wish.
Those who has it find it easier to learn new skills, to make friends, to enjoy happy relationships, to adapt to change and to achieve what they want in life.

Confidence makes you aware that learning from an experience is far more important than failure or success. And makes you more in control over your life. People feel the greatest stress when they feel they have little contol over what's happening in their lives.

Confidence can be gained when you're good and skilled in something, for example when you feel more condifent in a certain sport than in social events.

Confidence helps you to deal with uncertainty and to see challenges as opportunities and make challenging decisions.
It improves your effectiveness in interviews, meetings, presentations and when dealing with clients and colleagues.

Confidence will make people attracted to deal with you and give you a part in tasks that need leadership qualities and positive thinking.

The more confident you are, the more capable you appear to others, and so you attract more opportunities.
The more confident you are, the better you become in enjoying life's ups and dealing with its downs.
The attitude of a confidence person would be 'I didn't get it right that time- how can I do it differently next time?'
Confidence deos not mean that you are superior, in the contrary it means that you have failings and have plenty to learn.

To gain Confidence you should stop blaming others for your failures, what happened in the past you are responsible for yourself, you should avoid feeling sorry for yourself or acting like a 'victim' and you should avoid focusing on your bad points.
There's a theory that says eldest children, lonely children, or children with one sibling gets to have more confidence as they tend to get more parental attention.

It's possible that confidence is affected by genes, but it's more likely that your level of confidence is affected by your wellbeing, your past experiences, how you see yourself and how you perceive that others see you.

Trust

When we were little kids our universe and the kind of life we've shared and lived was so simple. It would consist of parents, siblings and two or three friends. We trust our parents to take care of us, to make the right decisions concerning school and education, to have faith in us, to support us, to give us their advices in order to walk in the right path and to avoid doing mistakes by sharing their experiences and listening, to pay attention to our needs and fulfill them, to help us strengthen our abilities and talents...to encourage us to have our own hobbies, and to raise us in such a way that combines between mutual respect and love. We trusted our siblings and friends to be there for us when we need them... to comfort us, to share our pains and laughs... to be part of our lives and to witness our victories and failures.

We would start building a sense of trust in a small circle that matches the kind of life and the simplicity of life we're having. Then it starts to move to another level and develops... it starts to grow in a different way and a different aspect.

As we grow, things get more complicated... and what was simple would no longer be simple... the cirlce gets bigger, and life gets more complicated... the kind of trust we try to gain starts to get more important by establishing a basic role in supplying security.

To gain security is what makes you go on, and what makes you stronger and more determined to succeed in whatever you're doing.
It's what gives you a peace of mind...as suspicion can destroy a person's peace of mind, while trust enhances it.

It happens often, you spend years and years in building trust but it takes one a silly stupid moment to destroy it all... and then you need to start from zero, to build it again, but this time it takes double the energy and effort.. you need to have strong faith that this time it will be worth the effort!

for someone to betray your trust,- it wouldn't really occur to that person at that moment how hard it will be to gain your trust again... because if s/he had the slightest thought about it, s/he wouldn't really risk it... this is also due to the fact that many people believe in forgiving but not forgetting... and to be able to build the trust fast you need to be able to forget...
To trust someone it means for you to have faith and belief that you won't get disspointed or hurt.. that this person is worth the trust... that you're in a relationship which is strong enough not to be destroyed over the silliest reasons.. that the bond you're sharing is as solid as a rock and stable as a wok,,, that you're believing in a better future and that this relationship is part of what leads you to it...

What's more important than love, is the ability to trust... when you feel you've reached this level of unconditional trust... then you're safe- and you can enjoy both, giving and loving unconditionally.

Colors

I am obsessed with colors! I do believe that your favorite color does in someway reflect your personality.. and that the colors you chose for your outfit reflect your mood of the day...

I sitll see yellow as summer and blue as winter, and that there are certain colors to be worn for each season. Special nail polish colors, and different hair colors that match with both weather and mood.

I am also obsessed with furniture, and sometimes I do realise that i have a weird taste... I admit that! But well this is what it takes to be unique ;)

It really makes a difference.. a big difference- when painting a wall with a bright color instead of dark so that the room looks wider, or when having a dimmed light in a room to give it a better look instead of neon lamps.

As I was surfing the net... I thought this is extremely interesting... and very creative!

A chair with a lovely design from both sides...

A closet and a mirror with funky colors...
no one can ever get bored with such furniture..

With those benches (and such a wonderful combination between summerish colors), I wouldn't mind spending the whole day sitting in the garden.. it gives a feeling of freshness and energy just by looking at them...

What a successful attempt to come up with something new and forget the dull old designs!

Boredom @ Work

We had the busiest month of August, but now as we're heading to the beginning of low season... I admit it, I prefer the busy days... I prefer the craziness of not knowing from where to start, how to begin, how to complete everything without losing my mind, or all the times things got out of control and I had a habit of forgetting the cheques inside the photocopyer...

Nowadays I feel im getting lazy and spoiled, there's nothing to do really! But well, Ramadan is coming and then another course and this time it's to MUNICH!!

Not to Frankfurt as the training center is closed for renovation, and as much as I miss Frankfurt, I can't wait to try something else... something new! And a new destination...

One of the things I did recently to waste time, I had stickers on my old mobile, and before selling it, thought it's better to clean it... Looking around, I didn't find a better place than my
work's pc screen, thought it's a nice way to have a new look of my desk..

After calling most of my friends, when bored, I usually keep the mobile infront of me and keep checking my phonebook... This is how i've been spending my mornings lately! Trying to arrange exciting events for the weekends.

I start my day with nescafe and biscuits, but when it gets bored, i just can't handle it... and keep thinking of new things to eat...
Even if this means having fruit in the morning...

I don't mind it! Usually we have chocolates at office from all the passengers who fly with us, so there's always something to eat... always! And when we're out of choco, there's always something else... we're never out of food!

Finally, I guess it looks neater now... at least the papers are not all over the place.. What an accomplishment!
